GTA 6 has become a highly anticipated game, with players anxiously awaiting the next chapter in the beloved franchise. But, the wait for the game has been over since the Rockstar Games officially announced their work on GTA 6.
The announcement was hidden at the bottom of a GTA 5 Community Update, with just one sentence noting that “active development for the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series is well underway.”
When Was GTA 6 Confirmed?
Rockstar Games made the first announcement by telling us that GTA 6 is in active development, and they said, “On behalf of their entire team, they thank you all for your support and can’t wait to step into the future with you!”
The take2games, Rockstar’s Parent company, made the second announcement in August 2022. They give us the statement:
When Did GTA 6 Get Leaked?
On 18 September 2022, GTA forums, one of the most popular discussion boards around the Grand Theft Auto productions and other things regarding rockstar games, became the massive leak house for GTA 6.
The leaks were done from a username: teapotubehacker, by giving a link through which we can access the gameplay footage of GTA 6, including 90 videos and some screenshots. The Rockstar Games officially accepted that these were the gameplay footage of GTA 6.
In this leak, we discovered that there would be two main protagonists, a male character known as Jason and a first-time female character in the series, Lucia, who are a couple.

The leaks showed us the various elements of the game, which have a game world, gunplay, and improved law reinforcement AI and NPC AI, which is said to be the most advanced. It also features advanced water physics and surfing, and the interior of the building is far more detailed and explorable.

When Will GTA 6 Release?
As the rumors said, the game is expected to release between April 2024 to March 2025, but these are the rumors. The Rockstar Games don’t give any official news regarding the trailer or the game’s release date.
